Application | Copper concentrate transfer | Pump | 8ST (Warman® AH-compatible)
8ST Pump for Copper Concentrate
Project Background
A copper concentrator running several Warman® AH-series pumps looked to qualify a second-source supplier for wear parts. Lead times from the original equipment supplier had grown longer than the plant's planned-shutdown window, and the team wanted an aftermarket alternative that could be released against the same dimensional reference without any pipework or alignment changes.
Scope of Supply
8ST-size AH-compatible wet-end parts: impeller, volute liner, throat bush, frame plate liner, cover plate liner, expeller, shaft sleeve
Material: high-chrome white iron for abrasive-duty parts; mating parts in matched alloy
Material certificate and dimension report included with each shipment
Qualification Approach
The first order was intentionally limited to a small trial — one impeller and a set of liners — installed on a single pump running concentrate, alongside the existing parts inventory. Over the following weeks the maintenance team recorded wear data and operating hours against the historical reference for the same duty on the same line.
Result
After the trial period the customer released a repeat order covering the remaining concentrate pumps. The direct comparison against the original parts removed speculation from the buying decision, and the case is now used as a reference project for similar copper-circuit customers evaluating an aftermarket second source.
