Shipping Slurry Pumps Overseas: Coating, Packaging and What Survives the Voyage

A wear part that survives the duty but arrives from a long sea voyage pitted with rust has failed    anyway. Export packaging is therefore part of the product, not an afterthought.

For steel and high-chrome parts we use anti-corrosion coating plus vapor-corrosion-inhibitor (VCI)    wrapping, then a sealed inner layer before the outer crate. The goal is to keep salt air and    condensation off the machined faces for the weeks the shipment is at sea and in port. Machined fits —    the surfaces that decide whether the part seats — get the most protection, because a scored fit is    harder to fix than a scuffed outer face.

Crating is sized to how the parts are handled, not just how they look. Heavy liners go in reinforced    frames; impellers get locating blocks so they cannot shift and chip each other. Documentation travels    in a waterproof pouch so the certificate arrives as readable as the part.

None of this is glamorous, but a customer judging a supplier often judges the unboxing first. A clean,    dry, documented arrival is the cheapest trust we can ship.
