MHPP-14TU Wet-End Parts Optimization

Project Background

A concentrator running an MHPP-14TU pump reported that the existing wet-end parts were wearing faster    than expected, and that the associated cyclone circuit occasionally produced an off-specification    overflow. Maintenance wanted a parts strategy that would extend service intervals without changing    the installed pump.

Investigation

After reviewing the operating data, the impeller wear pattern and the overflow photographs, the    dominant cause was traced to the pump running significantly off its Best Efficiency Point, combined    with a liner material that was not the best match for the actual particle distribution.

Adjustment & Supply

  • Re-selected the impeller profile to operate closer to the actual duty

  • Specified high-chrome impeller and matched liners for the abrasive part of the curve

  • Supplied a complete wet-end set with the new profile so the first service interval could be completed entirely on site

Result

Over the months following the change, the cyclones produced more consistent overflow and the    maintenance team reported longer intervals between impeller replacements. The site continues to source    replacement parts from us on a regular cycle.
