The bearing assembly is the rotating core of a horizontal slurry pump — the frame, shafts, bearings and labyrinth seals that sit outside the slurry. It is not a wear part in the same sense as an impeller, but it decides how long the whole unit runs between overhauls.

Why it matters
A worn bearing assembly transfers vibration into the shaft and seals, which then accelerates wear on the wet end and can crack a housing. Catching it early usually means a bearing swap; ignoring it can mean a full cartridge rebuild.
Rebuild timing
For continuous-duty plants we suggest checking the bearing assembly at every major wet-end service — the two are opened together anyway. Keeping one spare cartridge (or at least a full bearing kit) on site turns an unplanned stop into a planned afternoon. Dynamic balancing of the rotating element after a rebuild is worth confirming, since an unbalanced assembly shortens everything around it.
