How a 650 series slurry pump optimisation reduced parts cost per tonne and became the site standard repeat order.

A large copper concentrator needed longer intervals on its primary cyclone feed pumps. The existing liners were over-specified for the actual particle distribution and the impeller was running off the best-efficiency point, causing uneven wear.
We re-selected the liner grade and impeller profile against the real operating duty instead of the original catalogue duty. A complete high-chrome wet-end set was supplied, including a spare impeller, so the maintenance team could replace the whole set in one planned shutdown.
The site recorded longer impeller intervals and a lower parts cost per tonne of copper produced. The configuration is now the site's standard repeat order for concentrate pumps.
